Q: How much does construction cost per square metre in Nairobi?

Indicatively Ksh 25,000–45,000 per sqm depending on finish level, with renovation from Ksh 5,000–20,000 per sqm. Those are planning figures only — an accurate number needs a site visit and a bill of quantities, which we do free of charge.

Q: Do you do free site visits?

Yes, anywhere in the Nairobi metropolitan area at no cost. Outside the metro we recover travel only, agreed with you in advance.

Q: How long does a typical project take?

A residential home runs roughly 6–10 months, an office fit-out 4–10 weeks, and a supply contract delivers within 3–7 days of order. Your programme is fixed in the proposal before work starts.

Q: How do payments work?

Staged payments against measured progress — typically a mobilisation deposit then milestone draws. We accept M-Pesa and bank transfer, and issue an ETR invoice for every payment.

Q: Are you registered and insured?

Yes. Harriscom Company Limited is registered PVT-6LUK5LZD under The Companies Act, 2015, is NCA compliant, and carries contractor's all-risk and workmen's compensation cover. Certificates are available for tender submissions.

Q: Which areas do you cover?

Nairobi and the wider metro (Kiambu, Kajiado, Machakos) as core territory, with active or completed projects across 12 counties. We take work nationwide where the scope justifies mobilisation.

Harriscom Company Limited was incorporated in 2022 and has handed over more than 150 projects since. We are not the biggest contractor in Nairobi. We are the one that measures the work, prices it honestly, and tells you the week something slips.

OUR STORY

Built on the jobs nobody else wanted to finish.

Harriscom started in 2022 taking on the contracts other firms had walked away from — half-finished blocks, fit-outs running months late, supply chains that had collapsed mid-programme. Rescuing other people’s projects taught us exactly which habits cause them to fail: quotes that are guesses, programmes nobody updates, and a client who only hears bad news at handover.So we built the company around the opposite. Every quotation comes off a measured bill of quantities. Every site has a resident supervisor and a named project manager. Every Friday you get progress photographs, spend against budget and a look-ahead for the coming week. None of that is remarkable — it is simply what a construction contract is supposed to look like.Today we work across 12 counties from our office at 12th Floor, Bruce House on Standard Street, on everything from a three-bedroom home to a G+5 residential block, with a supply arm that keeps our own sites — and other contractors’ — stocked to programme.
